Canadian painter Nicki Ault is a prairie girl born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Nicki has an intense love for the natural world - landscapes untouched by human presence, specifically the Boreal forest, the big prairie skies and the wild grasslands of Saskatchewan. She has been painting seriously since 2010, when her second son entered school. She got her first taste of painting around 2000 at a weeklong landscape course at Emma Lake through what was then the Kenderdine campus of the University of Saskatchewan. She paints outside during the summer, but also in the studio from her own photographs, especially during the long prairie winter. Her work is held in private collections in Canada, the U.S., England, Switzerland, Thailand, Costa Rica and Australia and can be found in corporate collections within Saskatchewan. Nicki is proud to make Saskatoon her home with her husband and two sons and she loves spending time at her work space at Studio On 20th.
