ALISON NORLEN
Alison Norlen is widely known for her large-scale drawing and sculpture installation. Her work is set apart by its intricate detail and grand scale. She is inspired by attractions such as amusement parks, parades, carnivals, and circuses, and has worked in colaboration with other artists to create floats and other spectacles. She travels around the world seeking out new experiences and visual inspiration, she never passes up an opportunity to collaborate or explore something new.
Her work is held in many private and public collections including the National Gallery of Canada, the Mackenzie Art Gallery, the Winnipeg Art Gallery, the Remai Modern, the Canada Coucil Art Bank, the Manitoba Art Council, and the Saskatchewan Arts Board, amoung others.
Alison currently lives and works in Saskatoon, she is a Professor of painting and drawing at the University of Saskatchewan.
